The fire at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) accommodation in Al Muntaza area has claimed one more victim, 13-year old Micaela Pingul.
Daughter of Rafael Paule and Chone Rion Pingul, Micaela had been battling for her life after she inhaled smoke from the fire that broke out in their flat in the wee hours of Monday.
Chone (47) had died on the same day. Rafael (49), popularly known as Raffy and a senior member of the country's Filipino community is in a critical condition.
Informing the death of Micaela to The Gulf Times, sources at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Rosary said the girl was pronounced `dead' on Saturday.
The church also held a prayer service for the mother and daughter in Saturday evening. The service was attended by a large number of the parish members, according to the church sources.
While one of the other two children of the couple, identified as Rafael Lorenzo (15) was discharged from the hospital a day after he was admitted there, their elder daughter was away in The Philippines when the tragedy struck the family.
Rafael Paule has been working as a theatre technician at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) since 1999 while his wife had been a contract analyst with Shell since 2008.
