Bayern Munich confirmed on Monday they will again hold a mid-season camp in Doha next month, despite attracting criticism for training there at the start of each year since 2011.
The German league leaders will fly to the Qatar capital on January 6, returning on the 12th, with Pep Guardiola's side expected to play a friendly match in Abu Dhabi with the German league set to break for winter on Sunday.
"We have had very good conditions there, but now we must take care of the security planning - that is important," said Bayern's director of sport Matthias Sammer.
Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge last week defended the decision which has drawn criticism in Germany.
"We know that we are going into a country with a culture different from that of Germany, but a training camp is not a political statement. It should not be mixed with what we do," Rummenigge told magazine Sport Bild.
