The Qatari-Korean Joint Higher Strategic Committee began its third meeting yesterday under the co-chairmanship of HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada and the South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Yoon Sang-jick.
The meeting follows up on agreements reached during the two summit meetings between HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President Park Geun-hye in November 2014 and March 2015.
During yesterday’s meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of co-operation in the sectors on which agreement was reached during the two previous meetings such as energy, trade, investment, industry, infrastructure, engineering and construction, science, technology, and information technology. They also agreed on the importance of increasing aspects of co-operation and exchange of expertise in order to further enhance the close relations between the two countries.
The two sides expressed satisfaction over the progress of relations between the two countries in various fields and the continuation of work to develop them.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials in sectors concerned in the State (energy, industry, trade, investment, infrastructure, factory construction, science, information technology, communications, national defence, public security, education, youth exchange and tourism, healthcare, medical science and the public sector), in addition to members of the Korean delegation accompanying the minister of trade, industry and energy.
