The India Urdu Society-Qatar (IUS) is celebrating Qatar’s National Day with an international poetry symposium (Mushaira) at the Radisson Blu Hotel Giwana Hall tomorrow.
Several famous Indian and Pakistani poets, including Professor Waseem Barelvi, Dr Rahat Indori, Abbas Tabish, Dr Tabish Mehdi, Shadab Bedhadak Madrasi, Dr Majid Deobandi, Hasan Kazmi, Dr Tarannum Riyaz, Dr Naseem Nikhat, Dr Mahtab Alam, Abrar Kashif and Suhail Usmani, Jaleel Nizami, Ateeq Anzar, Shad Akolvi and Rashid Alam, will participate in the Mushaira which starts at 7.30pm.
Established in 2004, the Doha-based IUS is a social and cultural forum run by Urdu-speaking people of Indian origin to promote the language. It also works as a facilitator to help those interested in learning Urdu.
The organisation also appreciates Urdu literary services of Indians living in Qatar and abroad.
