Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar Finance and Business Management Independent Secondary School for Boys, aiming to enhance co-operation between the two parties and provide counselling and professional development services for students.
Both parties will work to raise the awareness of students by holding lectures and workshops for them in professional development and entrepreneurship topics, exposing students to a work environment, conducting preliminary tests and providing consultancy sessions in co-ordination with academic advisers, according to a statement.
Under the MoU, Bedaya Centre will be invited to participate in the various events held at the school and provide an opportunity for the centre to promote its programmes. It will also allow Bedaya Centre to use all sources available at the school and encourage students to participate in events and activities hosted by the centre.
These are in addition to announcing the centre’s programme through the school’s various communication channels such as social networking sites, e-mail and SMS, the statement explains.
A series of special workshops on basic skills for students will be organised as part of the agreement. These will cover professional development issues such as CV writing, career planning and interview skills and also provide opportunities for Qatari students to experience the work environment at several institutions in Qatar.
Bedaya Centre will also organise motivational workshops for students presented by Qatari entrepreneurs.
Reem al-Suwaidi, general manager of Bedaya Centre, said: “This MoU is an important step in the process of vocational and professional
guidance in Qatar.”
Ahmed Yussef al-Mahmood, principal of the school, said: “We share with the centre the same commitment in order to shape the future of youth in the State.”
