HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud met the Chairman of Darfur Regional Authority Dr Tijani Sese here yesterday.
The meeting was also attended by Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs at the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) Hesham Youssef, head of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur implementation follow-up office Amin Hassan Omer, who is also the representative of Islamic Development Bank.
They reviewed the results of a meeting held between the three parties to discuss the preparations for establishing the Darfur Development Bank, which HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani had announced earlier.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of speeding up the process of establishing the bank in line with the agreement the three parties have reached.
The establishment of the bank would help boost the projects related to the re-building of Darfur, as it will provide the necessary finance to families looking to earn their living in peace.
