The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will launch the patient medical triage system in Madinat Khalifa Health Centre from Wednesday as part of the National Health Strategy and the PHCC strategy to improve the health of citizens and residents of Qatar.
The service has already been implemented in several health centres such as Abu Nakhla, Mesaimeer, Al Shahaneya, Al Gharafa, Al Dhayen, West Bay, Omar Bin Kattab, Al Rayyan, Al Wakra, Al Shamal and Umm Ghuwailina. It will be applied in the remaining health centres according to a time plan.
PHCC has also announced that patients who attend the health centre without an appointment will be assessed by well-trained medical team who will ‘sort’ the patients according to their clinical need.
Those who need to be treated by a physician “based on their assessment” will be seen first.
The remaining patients, with more routine needs, will be allocated an appointment on the same day or later.
Patients with an appointment will have adequate time with the physician.
The medical triage system aims at discovering and responding to the urgent cases quickly and not to involve these cases with long waiting times.
