Al Dana Green Run to take place on January 16

Doha Bank yesterday announced that the 11th edition of its Al Dana Green Run will take place on January 16 at the Aspire Zone.
A popular community event in Qatar, the 3-km run is organised annually with the aim of enhancing environmental awareness and promoting a healthier lifestyle among members of the local community.
The 2016 edition of Al Dana Green Run will see men, women, and children join hands in support of a cleaner, greener, and healthier world. To ensure maximum participation, Doha Bank has split the competition into 10 categories, thus opening the doors for people from various social segments, age groups and fitness levels to take part in the event.
Cash prizes await the winners in each of the 10 categories as well as lucky members of the audience.
“Al Dana Green Run has evolved into a must-do fixture that families and individuals all across the city have developed an emotional connect with and look forward eagerly to each year,” said Dr R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank.
“Over the years we have witnessed a steady increase in the number of participants at Al Dana Green Run, with last year’s event attracting over 2,500 runners, leading it to be officially crowned by the Qatar Olympic Committee as the largest event of its kind in the country. We are determined to deliver an even more sparkling edition this year and ensure that all participants have a rewarding, memorable and fun-filled experience,” he added.
Considered to be ‘the biggest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event in Qatar,’ Al Dana Green Run takes its name from Doha Bank’s Al Dana Savings Scheme, the premier savings programme which offers customers the chance to win huge cash prizes. Through the Al Dana Green Run, Doha Bank seeks to encourage people to save resources, just as they save in their Al Dana accounts.
The 2016 Al Dana Green Run is hosted by Doha Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the General Directorate of Public Security, the Traffic and Patrol Department, Qatar Olympic Committee, and the Aspire Academy.
