Chief of Qatari panel for Gaza Strip reconstruction meets Fatah MPs

Chairman of the Qatari Committee for Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, ambassador Mohamed Ismail al-Emadi, met the Palestinian Fatah movement parliamentarians  here yesterday.
The meeting, held at the Fatah movement headquarters in Gaza City, discussed a number of problems in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Emadi  said Qatar aims, through such meetings that bring together the two Palestinian blocs (Fatah and Hamas),  to contribute to the solution of the Gaza Strip’s problems, and provide a decent life for its residents in light of difficult siege that they suffer from.
He expressed hope that the dispute between the two factions would be resolved,  stressing: “We are present in Gaza to serve the Palestinian citizen” and help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Referring to the electricity crisis in Gaza Strip, al-Emadi reiterated that efforts are on with the Palestinian Authority and the Israelis as well as the Quartet Committee in order to end it, adding: “We have come a long way with regard to extending a gas line to the power station in Gaza; it is possible that during the month of March we will get the final approval and construction licence for the project from the Israeli side.”
He noted that if the designs and approvals are finalised during the month of March, the project will be completed in one-and-a-half years.
