Emir issues decrees

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following decrees:
1. Decree No 1 of 2016 ratifying an agreement on economic, technical and scientific co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Costa Rica signed in Doha on 1/04/ 2014.
2. Decree No 2 of 2016 ratifying an Agreement between the governments of Qatar and South Africa on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and the protocol attached thereto signed in Pretoria on 6/03/2015.
3. Decree No 3 of 2016 ratifying a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of education and scientific research between the governments of Qatar and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine signed in Doha on 8/05/2012.
The decrees shall be effective from the date of their issuance and shall to be published in the official gazette.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following ratification documents:
1. Endorsing an air services agreement between the governments of  Qatar and Liberia signed in Doha on May 21, 2014.
2. Endorsing an agreement on co-operation and joint news exchange between Qatar News Agency (QNA) and the United News of India (UNI) signed in New Delhi on March 25, 2015.
3. Endorsing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on radio and TV co-operation between the governments of Qatar and India signed in New Delhi on March 25, 2015.
4. Endorsing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on scientific and technical co-operation between Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority  (QCAA) and the Earth System Science Organisation (ESSO) of India’s Ministry of Earth Sciences signed in New Delhi on March 25, 2015.
5. Endorsing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of diplomatic training between the Diplomatic Institute of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry and Indian Foreign Ministry’s Foreign Service Institute signed in New Delhi on March 25, 2015.
6. Endorsing the ratification of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of communications and information technology between Qatar’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and India’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed in New Delhi on March 25, 2015.

Emiri decision

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the Emiri Decision No 1 of 2016 renewing the membership of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA).
The decision shall enter into force from 17/1/2016 and shall be published in the official gazette.

decree  

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued Decree No 6 of 2016, appointing Abdulaziz Mohamed Ahmed Qassem al-Emadi as vice-chairman of the State Audit Bureau. The decree abolishes any provision that contradicts with its provisions.  The decree shall be effective starting from its date of issue and shall be published in the official gazette.

HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met the Yemeni Minister of Human Rights, Ezzedine al-Asbahi in Doha yesterday. Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the Yemeni issue in addition to a number of regional issues and developments of common interest.
