We must stamp out food adulteration

Dear Sir,

Food adulteration is quite common now, it seems. The other day, a few apples I bought from a store were found coated with wax. When I put them in hot water, the wax melted. Most of the apples we eat are covered with a thin coat of wax. This could be dangerous to our health.
Apples in stores often look quite shiny. Scratch them and you will see the wax coating coming out. Adulterated food pose a major health hazard and steps must be taken to end the practice.
We must work together to raise the next generation of healthy children and for this, it is essential to stamp out food adulteration.

Worry over admissions

Dear Sir,

The newly-arriving expatriate parents face a huge problem as it is a huge struggle for many of them to get admission for their children in schools in Qatar as the seats in them are limited.
New regulations setting the maximum number of students in a class aim well.
But as the number of new students seeking admission is higher than the number of seats available, this creates immense problems and gives anxious moments for parents.
The situation needs to be addressed immediately and a solution is to be found in a way that does not affect the standard of education.
