Red Bull Car Park Drift season from Jan 29

Red Bull Car Park Drift is gearing up to take over the Doha Corniche. The yearly awaited Middle East championship  will see its first round hosted in Qatar on January 29.
Under the patronage of Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and in partnership with Qatar Motor Show (QMS), the event will showcase the drifting skills of the best amateur drivers in the country at the Corniche - Dallah Parking Lot from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm under the supervision of Lebanese drifting legend, Abdo Feghali. The event is open to the public with free entrance.
“We are thrilled to have Qatar host the opening round of Red Bull Car Park Drift 2016”, said Alberto Chahoud, Area Communication Manager for Red Bull Middle East and Africa. “Following an outstanding success in 2015, the competition promises an adrenaline-charged show.”
Stressing on the importance of the high level of safety, Nasser Khalifa al-Attiyah, QMMF President commented, “We are delighted to announce that once again QMMF and Red Bull will present a round of Red Bull Car Park Drift, this time at the Corniche. It gives the young drivers a great opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a competitive safe environment.“
Around 20 amateur drivers will prove their unique drifting skills on the track in a showcase of exciting speed and smoking tires. A panel of experts in motorsports will judge the competition and will reward points for the loudest engine, the hottest cars, the smokiest tires, and the best skill in hitting the box. They will also be gauging the audience’s roars of excitement for each performer.
The winner will be named Qatar’s Car Park Drift Champion and will have the honor of competing against other winners from the Middle East and Africa in the Final  to be held in Oman.
Red Bull Car Park Drift Qatar qualifier will be the main highlight of Qatar Motor Show (January 27 – February 1) which will be featuring leading international carmakers, exhibiting the top sports, luxury and mid-range automotive models and branded lifestyle goods.
Red Bull Car Park Drift is sponsored by Nissan Middle East and Falken Tires, Vodafone, Qatar Living, I Love Qatar, What’s Goin’ On Qatar and Doha News.
