Katara and QLA sign pact to promote legal awareness

Katara - the Cultural Village and the Qatar Lawyers Association (QLA) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to raise legal awareness in the Qatari society.
The MoU was signed in line with Katara’s mission to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Katara made enormous strides to achieve the vision’s goals across a number of fields especially in providing knowledge to future generations by holding cultural events, law programmes, training sessions, and seminars, among others.
Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti stressed the importance of Katara and QLA’s collaboration and its positive impact in reinforcing progress and development in the country.
“This MoU is a result of Katara striving to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 which itself is based on providing knowledge to Qatar’s future generations and meeting the society’s need for a universally sound legal culture and in turn educating its citizens, enabling them to properly resolve any legal matters encountered,” Dr al-Sulaiti said. “Servicing the community is a key priority for Katara.”
Katara remains focused on offering the necessary benefits to its citizens and its mission aims to co-operate with major civil society institutions in the country such as QLA.
“We are pleased with the partnership we have formed with Katara which allows us to spread the culture of law among all segments of Qatari society to enable every person to fully understand their rights and duties,” said QLA chairman Rashid bin Nasser al-Nuaimi.
“QLA is more than satisfied with Katara for helping to provide such a distinctively prestigious cultural climate which increasingly contributes to the country’s legal awareness,” he added.
