The Mini Cabrio Right: The Mini Clubman

New Mini models to make Mideast debut at Doha event

Alfardan Automobiles, the official Mini importer in Qatar, will reveal the all-new Mini Convertible for the first time in the Middle East alongside the all-new Mini Clubman at the sixth edition of the Qatar Motor Show to be held from January 27 to February 1 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
“The Qatar Motor Show is the ideal platform for us to display the latest models from Mini and we are confident that they will be a hit,” said Alfardan Automobiles general manager Ihab Allam.
The latest addition to the Mini family, the Mini Convertible is the first and only premium convertible in the small car segment, bringing with it new open-top driving fun, as well as optimised sportiness, efficiency, comfort, functionality, safety and connectivity.
The Mini Convertible’s exterior design is described as a precise balance between top-class elegance and sporty flair. The highlights include powerfully sculpted surfaces with a dynamically elongated silhouette, up-to-date interpretation of classic Mini design features: circular headlamps and rear lights with chrome surrounds, hexagonal radiator grille, black peripheral body surround, side turn indicator elements; large selection of body finishes including the variant Caribbean Aqua metallic presented here for the first time.
The interior of the new model has taken the hallmark characteristics of Mini with a horizontally structured cockpit, circular or elliptical contours for displays, air vents and door trim elements as well as high-quality colour and material combinations; display and operating concept including instrument panel on the steering column, central instrument with new functions, optional LED lighting display and red start/stop button.
The new model will come in two engine variants with Mini TwinPower Turbo Technology; 3-cylinder petrol engine with 100 kW/136 hp in the MINI Cooper Convertible, 4-cylinder petrol engine with 141 kW/192hp in the Mini Cooper S Convertible. The 6-speed Steptronic sports transmission with shift paddles at the steering wheel is also available for Mini Cooper S Convertible.
As the Mini Cabrio makes its regional debut, the all-new Mini Clubman will be making its Qatari debut. With a wide selection of innovative driver assistance systems, an extensive range of options for exterior and interior individualisation, a stretched silhouette and accentuated width, the Mini Clubman reveals new, bold dimensions, which have increased by just over 32cm in length and around 12cm in width.
The interior of the new Mini Clubman has also expanded along with the exterior. The cabin’s new dimensions are made palpable through a generous sweep, clear surfaces and a more “grown-up” sense of space. The defining element of the Mini Clubman interior is its broad instrument panel, which adopts the generous surface areas of the exterior and brings them inside the car.
The Mini Clubman’s 3- and 4-cylinder petrol engines range from 100 kW/ 136hp through to 141kW/192hp and for the first time in a Mini, the Clubman is available with an optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission. The driver will also enjoy the highest level of ride comfort and brand-based go-kart feeling ever seen in a Mini thanks to the Mini Clubman’s high-quality suspension technology that is unique within the competitive field.
Mini continued its impressive growth in Qatar with the end-of-year results showing an increase of 34% in comparison to 2014, with the biggest share of sales going to the Mini Countryman, Mini 3 door hatch and the Mini John Cooper Works.
