HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al- Kuwari yesterday met the Chinese ambassador to Qatar Li Chen.
They discussed the preparations for the opening ceremony of the Qatar-China 2016 Year of Culture, which will kick off next Sunday.
Chinese Minister of Culture Luo Shugang is scheduled to arrive in Doha, leading a cultural delegation to participate in the opening ceremony.
Minister al-Kuwari also met the ambassadors of member-states of the International Organisation of La Francophonie to Qatar yesterday.
The meeting reviewed preparations for the organisation of the Francophonie cultural days, which will be held in Doha in March. It also discussed aspects of cultural co-operation between Qatar and Francophonie countries and means of boosting and developing them.
Qatar attends meeting of Arab customs’ chiefs
The 35th meeting for general directors of customs of Arab countries started yesterday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
Qatar’s delegation headed by General Authority of Customs Chairman Ahmed bin Ali al-Mohannadi.
Speaking to QNA, al-Mohannadi said the meeting will discuss over two days several issues related to the facilitation of trade and modernising customs as part of regional economic integration and also review steps to combat commercial fraud.
Real Estate transactions cross QR686mn
The total value of trading in real estate sales contracts registered with the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice from 10 to 14 January amounted to QR686,908,143.
According to the weekly bulletin issued by the department, the list of properties that were traded by sale includes open plots of land, houses and multi-purpose buildings, which are located in the municipalities of Doha, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Dhakira, Al Rayyan, Al Daayen, Al Wakrah and Al Shamal.
