World’s most precious metals to be on display at jewellery exhibition

Visitors to this year’s Doha Jewellery and Watch Exhibition (DJWE) will see “exquisite showcases of excellence in design and technique” at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre from February 23 to 27.
Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), Fira Barcelona and Elan Events, the five-day event will gather world-renowned jewellers who will be unveiling their 2016 creations.
The International Gemmological Institute, one of the most trusted arbiters of standards in the world, has been invited to DJWE.
“We are determined to ensure that the exhibition continues to build its reputation as a global leader in quality, offering enticing details of its new selection criteria for certain exhibitors at the February 2016 edition of the event,” QTA’s exhibitions head Hamad al-Abdan said.
The event will also showcase gemstones which are evaluated for size, clarity and quality. The world’s most precious metals will be on display such as platinum, palladium, pure and sterling silver and a full range of gold in various carats and shades.
DJWE has perennially drawn the interest of jewellery and watch aficionados, as well as experienced collectors.
“For the majority of our visitors, perhaps, DJWE 2016 will be a rare opportunity - in many cases a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - to witness from close up some of the most extraordinary creations in precious metal and gemstones by some of the most prestigious brands in the world,” said Elan Group CEO Jaber al-Ansari.
“It is always the elite few for whom these unique examples of art and craftsmanship, a significant number of which have been designed and made exclusively for appearance at the event and will never be seen again, are actually available for purchase,” he added. “This fact alone has always set DJWE apart from any other such exhibition in the region.”
