The Emir was accompanied by an official delegation.
Earlier on departure from Moscow, the Emir sent a cable to Russian President Vladimir Putin in which he expressed thanks and appreciation for the hospitality accorded to him.
Al-Attiyah meets first deputy FM of Turkmenistan
HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Wafa Khadzhiev and his accompanying delegation in Doha yesterday.
They reviewed relations between Qatar and Turkmenistan and ways of enhancing them and issues of common interest.
Ministry of Justice concludes training course
The Ministry of Justice’s Legal and Judicial Studies Centre has concluded a training course it organised for a number of researchers and legal specialists at the Ministry of Energy and Industry on the development of judicial control skills in the field of energy and industry.
During the two-week long course, participants were acquainted with the duties of the judicial control officers in the penal code and control duties.
In addition to lectures and workshops given during the course, practical applications in the field of legal inspection and control were also made to acquaint the participants with the most important procedures followed in the field of judicial inspection and control.
The course was part of the Legal and Judicial Studies Centre’s training programme in 2016.
CMU-Q to host first regional hackathon
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) will host its first regional 24-hour hackathon on Friday and Saturday at its campus in Education City.
The CarnegieApps Hackathon is an annual programming competition for university students, where individuals and teams compete in a 24-hour race to build mobile applications, web applications or games.
This year marks the first time that students from the wider region will participate. Sponsored by Ooredoo, Hackathon is organised by CarnegieApps, a student-led club at Carnegie Mellon Qatar.
“This event aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and creative thinking within a fun and intense competitive environment. It is a great opportunity for students to put the skills they are learning to the test,” said Farjana Salahuddin, information systems student at CMU-Q and a member of the CarnegieApps organising committee.
CarnegieApps Hackathon is part of Carnegie Mellon Qatar’s contribution to the computer science industry in Qatar and the region.
