Qatar Museums chairperson HE Sheikha Al-bin khalifa Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani met Chinese Minister of Culture Luo Shugang and his delegation during their visit to Doha to attend the opening ceremony of Qatar-China 2016 Year of Culture.
During the meeting, both parties discussed areas of mutual co-operation and ways to further develop the close relations between the two countries. Following the meeting, the delegation toured the Museum of Islamic Art.
The bilateral Years of Culture, held under the patronage of HE Al-Mayassa, is an annual initiative organised by Qatar Museums which aims to forge new partnerships and exchanges between Qatar and countries around the world through culture, arts and creativity, sport and business.
The Qatar-China 2016 Year of Culture, officially launched in Doha on Sunday, will celebrate the close relations between the two countries through a number of cultural partnerships between Qatari and Chinese organisations, institutions and individuals.
