HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al -Thani received a telephone call from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon yesterday. The UN chief extended an invitation to the Emir to attend the Syria Donors’ Conference, due to be held in London in February.
The Emir thanked the United Nations secretary general for the invitation and confirmed to the him that the State of Qatar will take part in the conference with a high-level delegation. The Emir affirmed Qatar’s keenness to contribute to all efforts for providing assistance to Syrian refugees and help alleviate their suffering.
The Emir also stressed that the State of Qatar has been and will continue standing with and supporting the Syrian people.
Foreign Minister receives phone call from UAE counterpart
HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani received a telephone call from his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
They discussed relations between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and ways of enhancing them, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
Doha hosts workshop on ‘waste statistics’
