The US embassy, in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce Qatar, will launch the second “Discover America Week Qatar 2016” between February 15 and 22 to celebrate the US-Qatar partnership.
The event will highlight the diversity and breadth of American goods, services, and products, and bring a little bit of America to Qatar. From a high-level forum for business leaders interested in doing business in the United States to a special American film showcase, an authentic American Sports Day, exhibits of leading American fashion designers, food, and education, will highlight the deep bilateral ties shared between the people of the United States and Qatar.
US ambassador Dana Shell Smith welcomed the week as a celebration of the ties that bind the United States and Qatar.
“This week will showcase the very best of American ingenuity, products, services, and culture. The United States and Qatar have a strong partnership that witnessed several milestones in 2015, and we are pleased to begin 2016 with a celebration of our deep and close ties.”
Robert Hager, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Qatar, said: “We are delighted that the US embassy and our commercial partners have come together with us to present the second ‘Discover America Week’ to Qatar. Commercial ties between two countries have never been stronger and we are working alongside our Qatari counterparts to further expand those ties.”
