Two Qataris, Indian housemaid killed in road accident

Two Qatari nationals and their Indian housemaid were killed when their vehicle overturned on the Abu Samra road on January 27.
According to sources, the Indian woman, identified as 32-year-old Badugu Ramalakshmi, was travelling along with the two others, belonging to one family, when the accident took place. All three were killed on the spot, they said.

Sources added that at least three other people, including two women, were injured in the accident.
Ramalakshmi was the fourth Indian housemaid to die in Qatar in the past 40 days. While a woman was found hanging at her work place on December 24, two others were killed earlier this week after inhaling smoke from a faulty room heater at their accommodation in Khartiyat. Incidentally all four hailed from the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Ramalakshmi was from Vishakapatanam district.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to repatriate the bodies of Pothula Pushpavathi (52) and Kunche Manga (52), who were killed at their accommodation at their employer's house in Khartiyat.
Humanitarian workers Abdul Salam Palakkad and N K Ali said they are working together with the sponsor of the two maids to send the bodies to India, latest by Saturday.
