Qatari high-jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim warmed up for the hectic 2016 season with a 2.29m jump to win the high jump competiton at the Pedro's Cup indoor meeting in Lodg, Poland, on Friday night. After his win, Barshim posted this image on his Instagram page with the message: "Thanks everyone for the encouragement and support... happy with the win 2.29, want more heights!! Two more competitions before the world championships (in Portland, America) next month..." Barshim will be seen in action at the Asian Indoor Championships, to be held in Doha from February 19-21 at the Aspire Dome, before the World Indoors from March 17-20 in Portland.
