Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday met with HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah who is on a visit to Ankara.
Dr al-Attiyah conveyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the president, wishing him good health, happiness and further progress and prosperity to the Republic of Turkey.
For his part, President Erdogan entrusted Dr al-Attiyah to convey his greetings to the Emir, wishing him continued good health, happiness and more progress and prosperity to the State of Qatar.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, especially in the military fields, and discussed the latest Arab and international developments.
Dr al-Attiyah also met separately with Turkish Defence Minister Ismet Yilmaz and Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Hulusi Akar.
They discussed issues of mutual interest, especially those related to the military aspects and ways of developing them to serve the common interests of both countries.
The meetings were attended by Qatar ambassador Salem bin Mubarak al-Shafi and the delegation accompanying the minister of state.
