Traffic for nearly 1.7km distance between the Qatar National Convention Centre and the eastern U-turn at Bani Hajer detour on the direction from Doha to Dukhan will be closed for 22 months starting Thursday.
During this period, traffic on the closed section of Al Luqta Street will be diverted to Gharrafat Al Rayyan Street and Al Terhab Street. The traffic on the opposite side of Al Luqta Street (from Bani Hajer to Doha eastbound) will not be affected.
The closure is required to facilitate the construction works of the proposed Dukhan Road (East Contract) as part of the Dukhan Road East project which includes the construction of an 11km road with four lanes in each direction, as well as upgrading the service roads including seven multi-level interchanges, and landscaping.
