Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), the country’s leading Islamic Bank, celebrated the National Sport Day (NSD) with a range of activities for its employees and their families at Al Sailiya Sports Club.
QIB Group CEO Bassel Gamal and Al Sailiya Sports Club chairman Abdulla bin Saeed al-Edah graced the event. The bank’s NSD celebration echoed its commitment to an active and healthy lifestyle, reflecting the importance the State sets on sport and healthy nutrition as pillars of public health for both citizens and residents of Qatar.
The programme included several activities such as running races for adults and children, football tournament and basketball competition.
Many family and children-oriented activities were also held throughout the day. Healthy meals were also distributed. The event concluded with prize distribution to the winners.
“We hope celebrating the NSD will encourage our staff to participate in sport, exercise and healthy activities throughout the year,” Gamal said.
Keen on promoting physical activities among its staff members, QIB encourages its employees to embrace exercise throughout the year in view of its importance in everyone’s lives and its rewarding effects on both body and mind.
