HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday discussed the latest regional and international developments with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Emir was in Istanbul on a short working visit to Turkey.
The two leaders’ talks focused on developments in Syria. They agreed on the need for a political resolution to the Syrian crisis that maintains the country’s unity.

The meeting, which took place at Yilidiz presidential Palace where the two leaders had a working lunch, reviewed bilateral co-operation and ways to enhance them. They discussed co-operation in the economic, investment and military fields.
The delegation accompanying the Emir attended the meeting. On the Turkish side, members of the cabinet attended the meeting.
The Emir also met with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in all fields. Developments in Syria were also reviewed.
Earlier, on his arrival at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, the Emir was received by Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, Qatar ambassador to Turkey Salem bin Mubarak al-Shafi and a number of senior Turkish officials and embassy members.
