HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will honour Qatar University’s men’s graduation ceremony of Class of 2016 on June 1, it was announced yesterday.
HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim al-Thani, wife of HH the Emir, will grace the women’s ceremony on June 2. Both ceremonies will be held at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
This year, 1,800 students - 400 men and 1,400 women - will be graduating with bachelors, masters, and diplomas from all colleges of QU.
QU vice president for Student Affairs Dr Khalid al-Khanji said the ceremonies reflect QU’s commitment to graduate highly-qualified students who meet the labour market’s expectations by empowering them with the knowledge and skills for lifelong learning to make significant contributions in driving the country’s development and growth.
“QU is committed to strengthening its students’ and graduates’ Arabic and Islamic identity and values. The organisation is ensuring that its graduates interact with and are open to the world while promoting their connectedness with their cultural roots and Islamic values.”
