Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF)  is to launch a new community sports event to add to its yearlong programme of activities. The Aspire Tennis Cup 2016 is a community tennis tournament that will take place in March 2016 at the Aspire Zone tennis courts by the Ladies’ Club.
The tournament is open to male tennis players, aged 18 years and over. It will take place on two consecutive weekends in March 2016, including the weekend of March 11-12 and March 18-19. Matches will be played between 4:00PM and 8:00PM during each competition day. The competition will be split into two main categories including 12 teams of doubles for contestants aged 18-39 years old, and 12 teams of singles for contestants aged 40 years old and above.
Registration for the tournament is available at www.lifeinaspire.qa, and costs 100 Qatari Riyals. There are a total of 36 places available to compete in the tournament.
Commenting on the tournament, AZF Events manager Abdullah al-Khater said, “We are delighted to host the Aspire Tennis Cup. It is a new community sports tournament that contributes to Aspire Zone Foundation’s ongoing promotion of a sports culture within the local community and efforts to encourage people to adopt healthy and active lifestyles. We hope through this tournament to engage the local tennis community and to benefit them by giving them access to our world-class facilities and venues, and dedicated staff. We encourage all tennis-enthusiasts to register for the tournament, and wish the best of luck to all participants.”
AZF organises a number of community events and activities throughout the year. By providing community members with access to its state-of-the-art venues and facilities, Aspire Zone Foundation looks to provide them with the opportunity to practice their favourite sport and physical activities. It is through programmes and activities such as these that Aspire Zone has become the preferred sports destination for the entire community.
All sports enthusiasts and members of the community interested in learning about Aspire Zone’s ongoing sports activities can find full details through the “Life in Aspire” mobile app, www.aspirezone.qa – or any of the Aspire Zone Foundation’s various social media channels.
