Demonstrating its commitment to the “vibrant” Asian business aviation market, Qatar Executive, Qatar Airways’ corporate jet division, is participating for the first time in the Singapore Airshow.
Completing the line-up of aircraft on display for Qatar Airways is the airline’s flagship A350 and A380 aircraft, which continued to be big crowd-pleasers on day-two of the Singapore Airshow.
The Singapore Airshow also provided the opportunity for key business meetings to take place. Qatar Airways Group chief executive  Akbar al-Baker met with president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Airbus, Fabrice Brégier and Ray Conner, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Making its first public appearance in Southeast Asia, Qatar Executive’s G650ER drew a “great deal of attention” from trade visitors and VIPs, who gathered to see the luxurious jet, which features a two-cabin configuration and seats up to 13 passengers. Seats convert into fully flat beds, so that seven guests can easily sleep on board.
Driven by the fast-growing number of high-net-worth individuals in the region, Qatar Executive sees great potential for its bespoke charter service in Asia and is showcasing its brand new state-of-the-art Gulfstream G650ER at the biennial event.
Industry professionals and customers were given the opportunity to take a tour of the luxurious aircraft, which is known to be not just the world’s most technologically advanced jet, but also the world’s fastest ultra-long-range business jet – capable of connecting cities such as Singapore and Nairobi or Hong Kong and New York non-stop.

The G650ER’s cabin is not only comfortable but contains the most advanced technology including satellite communications, high-speed internet, wireless local area network and Gulfstream’s Cabin Management System, which allows passengers to use their own personal electronic devices to control audio, video, lighting, temperature, window shades and other cabin functions.
The interior cabin has some 16 panoramic windows, the “largest” in business aviation, which are perfectly positioned so passengers have their own window.
Further stand-out features of the Gulfstream G650 are that it has the lowest equivalent cabin altitude of any business jet and the cabin air is replenished 100% every two minutes.
The G650ER can travel 7,500 nm/13,890km at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nm/11,853km at Mach 0.90 – so customers can travel at 90% of the speed of sound.
