Four talented young Qatari graduates have joined the Biomedical Research Training Programme for Nationals at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) where they will learn the skills to pursue a successful career in research.
The six-month training programme runs from January to June and provides comprehensive instruction and work experience to recent Qatari graduates in WCM-Q’s laboratories. Working with WCM-Q’s world-class research scientists, the interns learn a wide variety of competencies including practical lab skills, how to undertake clinical research and research administration.
This year’s interns are Khaloud al-Turki, a sociology major from Qatar University; Naira al-Thani, a biology graduate from Qatar University; Moza al-Kuwari, a biomedical science graduate from Qatar University and healthcare management graduate from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland; and Njoud al-Naama, a biology graduate from Cornell University.
The programme offers a solid grounding in the basic skills to work in the research field, and also gives the interns the opportunity to contribute to real research projects being conducted at WCM-Q.
