Registration for the 5th edition the Traditional Pearl Diving and Fishing Competition (Senyar) has started at the Beaches Department at the Culture Village Foundation, Katara.
It will go on until March 10. The organising committee has put a number of conditions for registrations such as the participating dhows should be made of wood, fit for sailing and equipped with all the necessary navigation and safety tools. It should also have a valid sailing licence.
Each participating team should be made of 10 to 12 Qataris, with an exception of one GCC participant when needed. Other conditions stress the traditional nature of the competition, which is set to be on the weekends starting from March 31 until April 16.
