Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco) has launched in Qatar the 2016 Honda Accord Coupe which features a brand new shape that primarily focuses on agility and sportiness.
The ninth generation Accord Coupe is the first in the region to boast of the advanced safety technology namely Honda Sensing, which has evolved e-drive assist technologies to provide utmost safety and security to all passengers.
“The Accord Coupe retains Honda’s best-selling qualities while displaying an enhanced style, sporty performance and a vast array of premium features,” said Faisal Sharif, managing director, Domasco.
“The 2016 Accord Coupe is redesigned with new exterior and interior styling; this model also hosts the latest technologies,” explained Domasco Honda sales and marketing head Greig Roffey.
The Accord Coupe sports more sophisticated and expressive styling cues including restyled front and rear bumper fascia, a new grille, bold and new tail light designs as well as new design alloy wheels for all grades.
The expanded use of LED lighting features new design LED headlights for 3.5L V6 grades, LED pipe guide daytime running lights as well as LED pipe guide taillights for all grades, and LED Front Fog Lights to help in low visibility situations for all grades.
The Accord Coupe’s interior is a fusion of advanced sport design and sophistication. It has a spacious cabin with fabric in base grade and leather in 3.5L V6 grades.
The highlights in all grades are the hi-tech 8-inch TFT Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) screen providing all assistance at a touch, premium audio and also ‘Remote Engine Start’ that enables the drivers to start their vehicles in advance, thereby activating the climate control system before they get into the vehicle The 3.5L V6 grades also has navigation.
The dual zone A/C in the base grade and i-dual zone A/C in the 3.5L V6 grades are coupled with controlled noise, vibration and harshness, giving the cabin a quiet feel.
Two gasoline engines with Earth Dreams Technology are available on 2016 Accord Coupe. These include a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine with CVT and a 3.5-litre V6 engine with i-VTEC + VCM functions coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The L4 engine generates 185hp @ 6400rpm and the V6 model 3.5-litre engine delivers 276hp@ 6200 rpm. The fuel consumption of the Accord Coupe is 16.4 (km/l) for the 2.4L EX grade and a 13.4 (km/l) in the 3.5L V6 grades.
The new suite of driver-assistive technologies under Honda Sensing, only available in top grade, consists of adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist system, collision mitigating breaking system, and road departure mitigation system.
Also featured in the 3.5L V6 grades is the Honda Lanewatch feature which uses a camera located below the passenger side window to display an expanded rear view of the passenger side road way on i-MID. The display can show cars up to two lanes. The rear parking sensors, standard in all grades, assist the driver by visually displaying the parking space on the MID and rear view camera.
The other Honda active-safety features are vehicle stability assist with traction control systems, anti-lock brake systems, electronic brake distributor and hill start assist.
The Accord Coupe, which also utilises Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure technology to enhance occupant protection and crash compatibility, has received the highest available crash safety ratings and a 5 –Star overall vehicle score.
