Rain and thunder forecast for Qatar

Rain and thunder are expected in the country from Tuesday night until Wednesday evening, the Qatar Met department has said.
In a statement on Monday, the forecasters said “unstable weather due to a deepening low in the upper levels of the atmosphere” was expected to affect the country in the said period, with chances of isolated rains that might become thundery at times.
A slight drop in temperature is also likely in the coming period as northwesterly fresh to strong winds (blowing at 15-25 knots, going up to 35 knots at times) will affect Qatar between midday Wednesday and Friday evening, according to the weather office.
These conditions will lead to high waves (7-12ft) and there is also a chance of blowing dust, which may reduce visibility to less than 3km in some areas. In addition, a slight drop in temperature is expected and it will be relatively cold at night.
In Doha, the minimum and maximum temperatures will range from 14C to 26C during this period.
The Met department has urged people to remain cautious during this period of weather fluctuations and strong winds.
Meanwhile, the detailed forecast for Tuesday states that slight dust is expected in inshore areas, along with partly cloudy to cloudy conditions by night and a chance of rain in some places.
Offshore areas are expected to be partly cloudy, and there is also a chance of scattered rain.
The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country on Tuesday are expected to be 17C and 33C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 19C and 28C.
