The 13th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) was inaugurated on Monday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).
This is the first global-level exhibition of jewellery and limited-edition premium watches held annually as part of a packed calendar of the industry.
The event, held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, has the support of Qatar Tourism Authority.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud inaugurated the event and toured the venue. More than 500 brands are showcasing their creations at different pavilions.
DJWE 2016 opens to the public on Tuesday and runs until February 27. The exhibition can be visited from 12noon to 10pm on all days except Friday, when the opening hours are from 3pm to 10pm.

Besides Qatar, there are exhibitors from Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK and the US.
Participants from Qatar who have their pavilions at DJWE 2016 are Alfardan Jewellery, Al Majed Jewellery, Al Makki Jewellery and Watches, Al Muftah Jewellery, Al Jaber Watches, Ali Bin Ali Watches & Jewellery, Amiri Gems, Arts & Gems, Blue Salon, Domasco, Fifty One East, MPP-ME LLC, Pari Gallery and Royal Jewellery.
