NHRC workshop discusses workers’ rights, expat issues

A workshop organised by the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) has discussed topics related to  workers’ rights in the Labour Law and the law on the residency and entry and exit of expatriates.
The workshop was organised for co-ordinators of the communities offices in collaboration with the US Labour Solidarity Centre.
The aim of the workshop was to discuss human rights issues and explain the working methods of receiving complaints process, and ways to process and handle them.
Speaking at the workshop Director of the Legal Affairs Committee Jaber al-Huwail underlined that the committee is seeking to facilitate communication by all means the communities offices.
 He pointed out that the opening of these offices at the NHRC has contributed a great deal  to processing  and tackling petitioners’ issues as one of the justice mechanisms.
The workshop included  a lecture on  workers’ rights  in the Labour Law besides law on expatriates’ entry and exit of expatriates and their residence.
