Qatar, Nigeria sign pacts to boost ties

Qatar and Nigeria signed two agreements following a round of official talks between HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Nigerian President Mohamed Bukhari at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.
The talks were attended by HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatari Ministers and the official delegation accompanying President Bukhari.
The talks dealt with relations between Qatar and Nigeria and the means of enhancing them, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern, especially the latest developments in the region.

Following the official talks, the Emir and the Nigerian president witnessed the signing of an agreement between governments of Qatar and Nigeria on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to income taxes and another agreement in the field of air transport.
Later the Emir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Nigerian president and the accompanying delegation.
The Nigerian president was accorded an official reception ceremony earlier on arrival at the Emiri Diwan.
