Emir sends cable of condolences to Bahrain king

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani  and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables to King Hamad Isa al-Khalifah of Bahrain condoling the death of Sheikha Lulwa bint Mohamed bin Abdullah bin Isa al-Khalifah.

Djibouti president leaves Doha

President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh left Doha yesterday after an official visit to Qatar.
President Omar Guelleh and his accompanying delegation were seen off at Hamad International Airport by HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, Qatar’s ambassador to Djibouti Jassim Jaber Jassim Sorour and Djibouti’s ambassador to Qatar Moamin Hassan Berri.

Real estate transaction
Registered real estate contracts in Qatar from February 21-25 were worth QR208,798,888, according to a report published yesterday by the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice.
The properties traded ranged from open plots of land, houses, compound and multipurpose buildings. They spread across municipalities in the country such as Doha, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Dhakira, Al Rayyan, Al Daayen and Al Wakrah.

Morocco minister meets Qatari envoy
Moroccan Minister of Tourism Lahcen Haddad met Qatar’s ambassador Abdulla bin Falah bin Abdulla al-Dossari in Rabat yesterday.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and Morocco and means of developing them.

He speaks six languages.

Public lecture on labour reform in Qatar
The Research Centre for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) is hosting a public lecture titled “The Migrant Labour Reform in Qatar: Towards a More Holistic Approach” today. CILE is a member of Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU).
The event will be held from 7pm to 9pm at the QFIS building in Education City. The lecture will be presented by Dr Ray Jureidini, professor of migration, human rights and ethics at CILE. From 2012 to 2013, Dr Jureidini served as a consultant to the Migrant Workers Welfare Initiative at Qatar Foundation in Doha, contributing to the QF Standards of Migrant Workers Welfare for contractors and sub-contractors and completing a report on labour recruitment for Qatar.
