HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud chaired the Cabinet’s regular weekly meeting at its Emiri Diwan premises yesterday.
The Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of Law No 18 of 1997 on Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.
This amendment requires the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to oversee the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association.
The Cabinet also approved the licence for the Economic Zones Company (Manateq) to use the territories of the industrial zone in Al-Rakiya and Al-Karaana.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved following agreements, draft MoUs and protocols:
1. The agreement between the governments of Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the recruitment of workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Qatar.
2. A draft legal and judicial co-operation agreement between the governments of Qatar and Morocco.
3. Draft Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for co-operation in the field of transport, culture, sports, tourism, and education between the governments of Qatar and Turkmenistan.
4. A draft MoU for co-operation in the field of financial affairs between the Ministry of Finance of Qatar and the Finance Ministry in Turkmenistan.
5. Draft MoUs for co-operation in the fields of youth and sports between the governments of Qatar and Azerbaijan, and a draft MoU for co-operation in the field of transport between the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Qatar and the Ministry of Transport in Azerbaijan.
6. A draft protocol amending some provisions of the agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on exemption of diplomatic passports holders and private travel passports of the requirements for obtaining a visa.
7. A draft MoU for co-operation in the legal field between the governments of Qatar and Singapore, and a draft MoU for cooperation in the field of education between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Education in Singapore.
The Cabinet then reviewed a letter by HE the governor of Qatar Central Bank and chairman of the Board of directors of Qatar Financial Markets Authority regarding the fee proposal for Qatar Financial Markets Authority, Qatar Stock Exchange and Qatar Central Depository Securities, and took the appropriate decision.
