Total’s Tennis Tournament for employees and their families concluded during the 2016 edition of Qatar Total Open, where Total was a title sponsor.
World No 6 Carla Suarez Navarro, the eventual winner of the WTA Premier 5 tournament met the players and appreciated them for their performances.
The two-week tournament was played over five rounds, and came to an end with Sabine Montaud and Xavier Pfeuty winning the women’s and men’s categories respectively. While Montaud beat Fanny Depierrefeu in her final, and Pfeuty went past Marc Lemaire to win the title.
Children were divided into two groups based on their age; Mathilde Vindevoghel and Inaki LeMignon were the champions, while Charlotte Montaud and William Jessup finished runners-up.
Total E&P Qatar’s managing director and Group representative Guillaume Chalmin congratulated the winners, finalists and participants of the tournament, noting how this sports initiative has been successful so far in “bringing about a positive and healthy sports spirit, while facilitating cultural integration”.
