Qatar’s leading department store Fifty One East has put on display two exclusive guitar models within the Music Square of the outlet at Lagoona Mall.
The Gibson Monarch Crown Jewel and the Gibson Crystal Burst are both special edition designs from the famed Gibson USA, home for electric guitars since 1974.
The unique guitars, unveiled in Qatar at the recently held 13th Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition, will be on display until the end of March.
The Gibson Monarch Crown Jewel Edition, first created in mid-1990s, has become the ultimate custom edition of Gibson’s world famous Super Jumbo acoustic guitar.
This one-of-a-kind art piece features a 14K gold crown medallion set into the headstock, dressed with Montana Yogo Sapphires, and intricate, hand engraved detailing. The select three-piece back construction offers a hand inlaid mother-of-pearl lion design with Monarch crown and banner.
The Gibson Crystal Burst, is a hand crafted, 1958 Reissue Les Paul adorned in thousands of Swarovski crystals, each laid into its top by the masterful hands of Robert Kantor who collaborated with Gibson Custom’s Luthiers to complete the guitar.
The multi-coloured crystal pattern mimics the iconic “flame” maple top and cherry sunburst finish; both features remain synonymous with the Gibson brand since the 1950s.
The playable guitar’s features include American hand craftsmanship, hand engraved gold-plated hardware, Western US maple, Honduran Mahogany and a historic 1950s serial number (842917) hand stamped.
