Al Rayyan’s charismatic chairman Sheikh Saoud bin Khalid al-Thani expressed his joy and happiness at Al Rayyan’s coronation as Qatar Stars League Champions for the 2015/2016 season.
Speaking at the crowning for his side the Al Rayyan President said: “Al Rayyan has smashed all records and expectations this season and sealed the league title with five rounds left to play.”
Al-Thani added: “I would like to congratulate each and every fan and associate of the club. I would like to thank all Al Rayyan fans for all their support and contribution this season which is a crucial part of the victory.”
Sheikh Saoud also praised the local media assuring that Al Rayyan’s victory won’t stop with the QSL title. He also appreciated the efforts and work done by all players as well as the technical staff and officials, in particular the team head Coach Jorge Fossati who developed the team’s performance and results.  
“Al Rayyan deserves the QSL shield. I wish that the coming cup competitions will result in more success for Al Rayyan. Rayyan have broken all the records in Qatar Stars League this season which is a clear proof on the team’s strength.”

Hani Ballan: Congratulations to Rayyan
The Qatar Stars League, CEO Hani Taleb Ballan congratulated Al Rayyan Sports Club for winning the QSL title for the 2015/2016 season.
Ballan was also quick to praise the passionate Al Rayyan fans on lifting the QSL trophy for the first time since the 1994/1995 season. Ballan praised the QSL champions Al Rayyan, in an exclusive interview with QSL online at the crowing event for the side. He indicated that they deserve to win it in terms leading the lead from the very start. “Al Rayyan have been playing well from the very start of the season and our deservedly QSL champions.  Also credit must go to their passionate fans that helped them to the QSL title.”
Ballan pointed out that winning the title by Al Rayyan wasn’t achieved by luck but it was due to the efforts and relentless work of the Club Management chaired by Sheikh Saoud bin Khalid al-Thani – the Club President – and the team officials in addition to the technical staff led by the head coach Jorge Fossati.
Ballan also explained that the success of Rayyan came from contracting with quality players whether professionals or locals who contributed to this huge achievement. Ballan stressed on the fact that the excitement and competitiveness will be present in the QSL remaining fixtures despite settling the league title, with battles heating up for the Qatar Cup places or relegation zone.

Al Rayyan stars reflect on title win
Stars of QSL side Al Rayyan expressed their joy at sealing their first Falcon shield in 21 years after defeating Al Wakrah 5-0 at Al Sadd Stadium. QSL online caught up with some of the players to get their thoughts on the Lions record breaking season.

Tabata: QSL shield is well-deserved


Al Rayyan football team captain Rodrigo Tabata expressed his happiness with wining the QSL title for the first time with Al Rayyan. He is so proud to be part of this team. He said: “We have achieved our objective with a well-deserved victory before the end of the QSL season, it shows how hard everyone has worked at the club.”
Tabata had some warm words for the passionate Rayyan fans for their support and contribution over the season. “We have faced some difficulties during our campaign but with determination and strength as well as the support by the Club Management and the fans, we were able to accomplish our goal. We are looking forward for more titles and achievements in the coming period which definitely will be tougher and more difficult.”  

Saoud al-Hajri: Have to build on win
Rayyan goalkeeper Saoud al-Hajri was pleased with his sides performance over the season; “We have commemorated our efforts by winning the QSL title. We are so proud and satisfied with this achievement. We promise Rayyan fans that we will continue even stronger towards more titles and championships.”
The Qatari keeper also added that this was only the beginning for his side, who stormed to the league title after being previously relegated to the Qatar Gas League. “We have to build on this moment to push ourselves in the coming competitions and I would like to congratulate the Club Management and fans, who have pushed us to glory.”   

Jumaa: QSL win down to hard work
Rayyan defender Mohamed Jumaa has assured that overjoyed by his contribution of that and his teammates in delivering the Falcon shield to the QSL fans. “Thank God  for what we have achieved and I am so proud for playing with Al Rayyan, this is a huge club in Qatari football, the league title came after lots of hard work and support by the Club Board, technical staff and the leadership of head coach Fossati.”
Hamed Ismail: This is just the start
Rayyan winger Hamed Ismail confirmed that supporters of Al Rayyan deserve this trophy. “Thank God for this accomplishment and we are looking forward to more achievements in the future. This title is merely the beginning of competing for all other titles. The team will participate In both the Qatar Cup and Emir Cup as the main objective is working on winning of both.”

Alaaeldin: Title will push side on
Young Rayyan defender Mohammed Alaaeldin said: “I am so proud to share with my teammates this victory and the QSL title for the 2015/2016 season. We have achieved our objective, and this title will motivate us to move forward and go further in all other competitions.”
