Barwa Bank has appointed Nasser Rashid al-Humaidi as the group’s chief operating officer (GCOO).
Al-Humaidi, who will be directly reporting to the acting GCEO of Barwa Bank Group Khalid Yousef al-Subeai, will be developing an integrated structural framework to enhance operational efficiency, boost productivity and streamline processes and procedures by employing the latest financial sector technologies.
Al-Subeai said, “I am pleased to announce that Nasser Rashid al-Humaidi is joining Barwa Bank Group as its chief operating officer. Nasser has extensive experience and a proven track record in leading institutions and companies in Qatar, and we are confident of al-Humaidi’s contribution in upgrading our banking operations and information technology as we look to the future.”
Al-Humaidi has more than 19 years of experience in the operations management and information technology sectors, and has a “proven” track record of outstanding achievements in a slew of leading institutions and companies in Qatar that operate in various sectors including telecom, real estate development, oil and gas as well as some national steering committees. He worked as the executive director (Operations & Support) at Qatar Development Bank over the past three years.

Qatar Executive to exhibit Gulfstream G650ER at Abu Dhabi Air Expo

Qatar Executive, the private jet charter division of Qatar Airways, will exhibit at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo this week.
The event takes place at Al Bateen Executive Airport, the first dedicated business jet airport in the Middle East and North Africa, from today until March 10.
“Qatar Executive will participate with an exclusive, dedicated chalet and showcase its brand-new Gulfstream G650ER on static display, giving visitors the opportunity to see the luxurious interior of the world’s fastest ultra-long range business jet, which is highly sought-after among the global travelling elite due to its phenomenal range capabilities, industry-leading cabin technology and unparalleled passenger comforts,” according to a statement.
Qatar Executive’s G650ER aircraft can “easily fly non-stop from the Middle East to North America or from destinations in Asia to Africa – further, faster than any other jet of its kind – and is perfectly suited for those whose travel needs include flights halfway around the globe,” the statement notes.
Having first been presented at the Bahrain Airshow in January, and then in February to the travelling elite at the Singapore Airshow, Qatar Executive’s G650ER will now make its first public appearance in the UAE.
The aircraft “promises to draw a great deal of attention from trade visitors and VIPs, who will be able to take tours of the business jet, which features a two-cabin configuration and seats up to 13 passengers. Seats convert into fully-flat beds, so that seven guests can comfortably sleep on board,” the statement adds.

The G650ER can travel 7,500 nm/13,890 km at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90 – so customers can travel at 90% of the speed of sound.
