Participants of Aspire banks and embassies tournaments honoured

Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) held a gala dinner to honour the organisations that participated in and supported the Aspire Banks League and the Aspire Embassies Football Tournament, which were held over the past four months. The dinner took place on Tuesday evening and was attended by ambassadors, bank executives, players, local media representatives and officials from AZF.
During the event, the best players from the participating embassies and banks were awarded. In addition, tournament partners were honoured for their support in helping make the tournaments a success, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Qatar Football Association (QFA), the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and local media.
In his speech, Aspire Logistics director general Abdulla al-Naimi said: “Our goal in organising these tournaments is to strengthen community ties between different sectors operating in Qatar, and I’m proud to say that we have achieved this vision through these sport gatherings in a friendly atmosphere, and with a positive team spirit. Organising these tournaments is an extension of an initiative we launched during Ramadan to expand our community activities to include institutions from the public and private sectors, including bank and embassies.”
Al-Naimi concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to the success of these tournaments, mainly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, QCB, QFA, participating banks, embassies and local media.
QCB’s Financial and Administrative Affairs director Ahmad al-Shaabi added: “I would like to thank Aspire Zone Foundation for organising this tournament and for its support to all participating teams. I would also like to thank the participating banks for their sportsmanship, which played a key role in the success of this tournament. Such activities contribute significantly in bringing everyone from the banking and financial sectors closer together.”
Al-Shaabi concluded by announcing that Qatar Central Bank has committed to sponsor the next edition of the Aspire Banks League in co-operation with AZF.
Qatar Central Bank won the Aspire Banks League title during the last tournament, which witnessed the participation of 14 banks, including QCB, Qatar National Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Masraf Al Rayyan, Barwa Bank, Qatar Islamic International Bank, Al Ahli Bank, International Bank of Qatar, Al Khaliji Bank, Qatar Development Bank, Commercial Bank, Doha Bank, HSBC, and Standard Chartered.
