Over 200 take part in Ooredoo’s Female GOAL tournament

With as many as 216 players participating in the 2016 edition of the GOAL Sports Tournament, Ooredoo congratulated their female employees for making the tournament a success.
During the closing ceremony, medals were presented to the winners by Qatar Woman’s Sport Committee (QWSC) president Ahlam Salem M al-Mana and Ooredoo’s Chief Corporate Services Officer Mohammed Jassim al-Kuwari.
This is the third ever female GOAL tournament, which is designed as a teambuilding exercise for female employees across Ooredoo. The players from across the company took part in activities such as volleyball, shooting, table-tennis and table-football.
Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, Ooredoo’s director of Community & Public Relations, said: “We had a 50% rise in the amount of players taking part this year, a statistic I’m very proud of. We launched the female only GOAL tournament so that our employees could represent their department and have some fun, and I’m ecstatic to see such a positive turnout in our third year. We believe in championing women and hope everyone had a good time.”
Apart from the matches, the company had a dedicated children’s zone, which held 127 children during the tournament, which took place at the Qatar Women’s Sport Committee on the February 23-24.
