Qatargas joins ‘Moushtarayat’ conference and exhibition

Qatargas has announced its participation in the “1st Government Procurement and Contracting Conference & Exhibition (Moushtarayat)” organised by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) as part of its vision to encourage local business partnerships.
Moushtarayat aims to promote sustainable government procurement and help prepare small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) meet their goals.
Qatargas’ pavilion at the exhibition showcased the company’s supply and procurement opportunities available to local contractors and suppliers.
As a socially-responsible corporate citizen, Qatargas’ participation and support for Moushtarayat stems from its key strategic direction of actively contributing to social, community, and local business partnerships.
Qatargas’ procurement policy puts emphasis on sourcing goods and services from the local market with a special focus on SMEs. Furthermore, Qatargas strongly encourages its contractors and suppliers to give preference to the services of local companies and using local materials during the execution of all Qatargas contracts.
Through this strategic approach, Qatargas is fully-aligned with and contributing remarkably to the economic development objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Over the past three years, Qatargas has been organising the annual Contractor Forum to support local businesses. The event aims to inform contractors and suppliers of upcoming projects and business opportunities in Qatargas, aside from seeking feedback on the company’s procurement process.
Local banks and officials from Qatar Chamber also participated in the event. Qatar Development Bank was a strategic partner in the third Contractor Forum, which was held in November 2015.
Qatargas’ participation in the Moushtarayat conference and exhibition is an example of its commitment to the local market and is aimed at encouraging SMEs, which, in turn, will promote sustainable economic growth in the State.
