Abdulaziz al-Eid leads Saudi Arabia’s clean sweep

Khaled Abdulaziz al-Eid led Saudi Arabia’s clean sweep of the podium in the main event, on the opening day of the QNB Doha Tour second-leg, yesterday.
At the Qatar Equestrian Federation, Abdulaziz al-Eid riding his 11-year-old Mare, Valuta S won the CSI4* Table (A) Against the clock with jump off, Art. 238.2.2, 145 CM event. The Saudi rider committed no fault and cleared the hurdles in 31.53 seconds to pocket QR37,500 in prize money.
Ramzy Hamad al-Duhami (Bayard Van De Villa Theresia) and Abdullah Alsharbatly (Little Pezi) finished second and third respectively, completing a clean sweep for Saudi. In the CSI4* Two Phases, Art. 274.5.3, 145 CM event, Saudi Arabia once again finished on top. Khaled Abdulrahman Almobty astride Dona Evita emerged triumphant, coming home clean in 31.53 second for a pursue of QR32,500. Turkey’s Omer Karaevli (Rabane de Sury), came second, while Qatar’s Salman Mohammed al-Emadi (Zorro Z) was third.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Ali al-Khorafi won the day’s opening two CSI2* events. He first rode Ungarin to victory in the Table (A) Against the clock, Art. 238.2.1, 125 CM, before emerging triumphant with Cheril in Two Phases, Art. 274.5.3, 135 CM event,
Qatari riders Khalid Hamad al-Attiyah (Viking D) and Saeed Nasser al-Qadi (Desperadito) too second and third place respectively.
In the day’s first competition, Qatar’s Mohammad al-Ghazali (Caresse M G) had finished third, behind Fahad Abdulaziz al-Eid (Unlimited) of Saudi Arabia. For the first time, Doha Tour is being held in three legs. The first leg of the event was held concurrently with the prestigious CHI Al Shaqab, which concluded last week. The third and final event will take place at Katara from March 24-26.
The QNB Doha Tour series trophy will be awarded to the overall champion, who has won the most points over the three legs.
