Coach Zola calls for consistency from Al Arabi

Seventh place Al Arabi take on second placed El Jaish today. With both sides looking to confirm a top 4 place come the end of the season.
Al Arabi head coach, Gianfranco Zola is satisfied with his team preparation ahead of the game. “The preparation has been very good even though we had one day less of training. I am satisfied with the players in training as they are doing well; the reaction in the training ground has been very good.”
Al Arabi are having trouble with consistency in recent weeks, only securing one point from three QSL matches.
Zola is confident in his team’s ability to perform against the top sides. “We can play any team and beat them, we have shown that we can beat any team on a given day. But at the same time we can also lose. So all we need is consistency and we need patience to get consistency and that is what I’m trying to do at this club,” added the Italian.
Zola concluded his conference assuring fans that the future of the club is bright. “We do have many young players in the team. I try to let my young players play but at the same time we need results so it is a balance always,” he added.
Jaish look for win
Jaish will be looking to get back to winning ways following their shock draw to bottom side Meisameer in round 21.
Sabri Lamouchi, head coach of El Jaish spoke about upcoming two games for his side, “This match and the next match in the AFC Champions League are very important and we need to prepare players for both games. Our last draw against Mesaimeer was a big fall for us as it made us lose two important points,” added the Frenchman.
“This is a big game for us since we have AFC Champions League and we have to secure second place in QSL. Since we have two games coming up we will be spending a lot of energy,” said Lamouchi, speaking about the task ahead.
The 44-year-old coach later commended his players for their hard work and dedication, “I’m very lucky to work with this group of players. They have a competitive mentality and they don’t need motivation instead they know what they have to do, they know they have to represent Qatar to best of their ability in the AFC Champions League, I feel lucky to coach these players.”

Khor focused ahead of Lekhwiya test
Al Khor ended a 3 match losing streak last week defeating Qatar SC 3-1. The Knights are looking to continue their recent good form when they take on Lekhwiya, in round 22 of the QSL.
Khor currently sit 9th in the QSL standings with 25 points from 21 matches. The team is now focused on the last five games, looking to get as many points as possible to improve their position in the league.

Jean Fernandez, the head coach of Khor started the press conference by congratulating Al Rayyan on their title victory. “Congratulations to Al Rayyan for winning the league and I think they are a good example for other teams,” said the Frenchman.
Al Khor’s focus is firmly on staying in the QSL. “Our win against Qatar Sports Club is the past and now we need to look ahead and face the upcoming challenges and the first of them is Lekhwiya. We have five more matches to focus on and Lekhwiya is a strong team.” Fernandes also added that, “We didn’t get out of the danger zone yet. So, we need to focus on the remaining games and get as many points as possible.”
As the season wraps up Khor will be without key personnel ahead of the Lekhwiya clash “We got a big hit with Julio Cesar’s injury, we can’t find a good substitute for him. It’s because he has great attacking prowess and he is a good leader as well.,” said the 61-year-old veteran coach.
Lekhwiya wary of Khor threat
Djamal Belmadi, Lekhwiya head coach is wary of the threat that Al Khor possess. “It won’t be easy to play Al Khor as they had a good result in the last game against Qatar Sports Club. They will be dangerous because they are fighting for points.”
The Red Knights are 3rd in the league, 2 points behind 2nd placed El Jaish and they are focused on snatching 2nd place so that they can confirm their qualification for next season’s AFC Champions League.
”We believe that this game will be a good preparation for our AFC match against Al Nassr and moreover we have to focus on getting 2nd place in the QSL. The managers and the team are doing all we can to get 2nd position,” added the Algerian
