United Developers joined the most influential people in the fashion industry for Milan Fashion Week to promote its QR5.5bn mixed-use development, Place Vendôme, currently under way in Lusail.
During the 2016 Fashion Week, Place Vendôme Qatar partnered with Vogue Italia to celebrate the magazine’s February edition, which was guest-edited by leading fashion and portrait photographer Mario Testino.
Laugh, by Testino, is a special issue dedicated to the art of the laugh and features five stories shot in London, New York and Rome.
To celebrate the special edition of the magazine, Place Vendôme and Vogue Italia co-hosted an exclusive Cocktail Dinatoire that welcomed the fashion industry’s key figures - from brand CEOs and designers to models, editors and artists. British singer Rita Ora marked the evening with a special performance.
Sean Kelly, project director of Place Vendôme, said: “We are very proud of the collaboration with Vogue Italia magazine, which comes to strengthen our existing partnership with Condé Nast International.
“Our participation at Milan Fashion Week was a great opportunity to meet with the most influential Italian and international retail fashion brands and reinforce Place Vendôme’s leading position on the global luxury and fashion industry.
“We were delighted to see that many international fashion brands have started to understand the massive potential of Qatar’s emerging retail market and see Place Vendôme as the ideal gateway to this market.”
Slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2017, the 800,000sqm Place Vendôme project will host two five-star luxury hotels, serviced apartments, a mall featuring up to 400 retail outlets and a central entertainment amphitheatre, according to a statement.
