The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will open two new centres for breast and bowel cancer screening, said Dr Sheikha Abu Sheikha, director, cancer screening programme at PHCC.
“The new centres are expected to be opened soon in Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail health centres along with a mobile unit, which would enable PHCC to provide checkup services for everyone across the country,” said Dr. Sheikha.
She noted that the opening of early detection of breast and bowel cancer centre in Al Wakra Health Centre has helped a large number of people who wish to make checkups.
She explained that people can visit the centre for checkup by calling the services centre and make an appointment. They can also book an appointment date through the website by sending a message, and through a referral by a doctor in the health centres in the PHCC.
