The MoU was signed by QF Health, Safety, Security and Environment Executive Director, Sheikha Amal al-Thani and Weyak’s Executive Director, Mohamed al-Benali.
Al-Benali said mental illnesses require treatment, support and assistance of all government institutions, adding that informing and educating the community on mental health matters is necessary and very important, hence the importance of co-operation between the Mental Health Friends Association and various State institutions.
He pointed out that there are many intersections between the Mental Health Friends Association and QF Department of Health and Safety, Security and Environment as they share the general objectives or strategic plans and keenness to boost the community’s health through promoting good mental health, reducing stigma and preventing mental illness.
